Xi an and Chengdu are both important tourist destinations in China. Xi an has a very long history and many places of interest, while Chengdu is internationally famous mainly for its pandas. Besides, Chengdu has a lot of colorful content. Both cities have attractive charm and delicious food, and it is a good choice as a destination. The two cities are more than 600 kilometers apart and connected by the Xian-Chengdu high-speed Railway, with about 60 high-speed trains running each other daily.
The 658 km Xi an-Chengdu High-speed Railway was opened on December 06, 2017, with a maximum operating speed of 250 km/h. The Chengdu to Xi an train service starts from 06:09 to 20:07, and the Xi an to Chengdu train service starts from 06:38 to 19:50. However, it should be noted that only one-third of these trains are only running between Chengdu and Xi an, and the rest are long-distance trains heading in further directions. In Xi an, all trains stop at Xi anbei (Xi an North) Railway Station, in Chengdu, all trains stop at Chengdudong(Chengdu East) Railway Station. Depending on the number of stops on the way, the fastest direct train can complete the whole journey in a little over three hours, while it takes about 4.5 hours to stop at a maximum of a dozen stations. The train models running on this line are unusually rich, whether it is the latest CR400AF-Z series, or the CRH3C, which has been in use for 15 years, as well as the CR300 series in blue paint. The line currently has a fixed price, with all trains costing the same on any day and at any time, regardless of speed: 263 yuan (about 33 euros) for second class, 421 yuan (about 53 euros) for first class, and 789 yuan (about 101 euros) for business class.
